Fire Fighting Systems
At Air Movement & Control System, we design and install reliable Fire Fighting Systems to protect life, property, and critical infrastructure. Our solutions are engineered according to National and International fire safety standards, ensuring your facility remains safe, compliant, and prepared in case of emergency.
A properly designed fire suppression system helps:
– Detect fire early
– Control or extinguish it quickly
– Reduce damage and operational downtime
– Ensure safe evacuation and emergency response
Fire Detection System
A fire detection and alarm system is a microprocessor-based software-controlled system. Each loop has a capacity to accommodate a certain number of addressable devices and detectors. This gives the panel capacity to individually identify and control detection and control points. The panel will provide annunciation of all alarms and troubles on the system at the LCD backlit display on the panel front. The power supply requirement for the panel is 240V, 50 Hz 1 Ph AC.
All the addressable photoelectric smoke detectors, multisensory type detectors, addressable rate of rise cum fixed temperature heat detectors, addressable manual pull stations (indoor and outdoor type) and other special type devices are provided throughout the protected area as per norms.
All the addressable devices are wired to the Main Control Panel through Fire Alarm Control Cable. A graphic annunciation system may also be provided if required to provide a pictorial representation of the location of fire.
Fire Protection System
A hydrant system is the most basic constituent of a comprehensive firefighting system. It consists of an underground and over ground piping network, which is connected to the fire water pumps through common headers installed in fire water Pump house. Hydrant valves are installed on stand posts, which are in turn connected to the main header pipes. Each hydrant valve is strategically located around the protected areas to combat a fire.
The major equipment and materials of Hydrant system consist of the following:
- Fire Fighting Pump sets (Electric Motor Driven Hydrant Pump and Stand by Diesel Engine Pump, together with a jockey pump for pressurization)
- Main header piping, both underground & over ground
- Isolating valves
- Hydrant/landing valves
- Hose pipes with couplings
- Branch pipe with nozzles
- Hose Boxes for Internal/External Hydrants
- Hose House
For yard hydrants, the necessary branch pipe with nozzles and 15 M long hoses will be kept in Hose houses/boxes, as per system requirement. Internal Hydrants will be provided with Hose boxes each containing two lengths of 7.5 M long house and a branch pipe with nozzle.
In case of a fire, hose pipes are extracted from a hose box/house close to the area of fire and fitted onto the closest hydrant. The nozzle fitted on the other end of the hose pipe is directed towards the fire and the hydrant valve opened. The pipe network is kept pressurized with water and opening of the hydrant valve causes automatic starting of fire pump. The discharge of water through the nozzle at designed pressure suppresses the fire.
