Cellulose Pads

Cellulose Pads, also called Evaporative Cooling Pads or Cooling Media Pads, are designed for use in cooling towers, HVAC systems, air coolers, and industrial cooling systems to provide effective evaporative cooling.

These pads consist of cross-corrugated cellulose paper that is treated to resist decay, fungus, and algae growth. This treatment ensures both durability and reliable performance. They play a key role in evaporative cooling systems. Hot air flows through the wet pads, and the water evaporates, cooling the air naturally.

Working Principle
  • Water continuously spreads over the surface of the cellulose pad.
  • When hot, dry air moves through the wet pad, the water evaporates.
  • This evaporation absorbs heat, lowering the air temperature.
  • The cooled air is then circulated into the desired space or process.
  • This method is energy-efficient because it relies on the natural cooling effect of water evaporation instead of mechanical refrigeration.
  • High Evaporation Efficiency; the unique honeycomb design maximizes the surface area for water and air contact.
  • Durable and Long-Lasting; treated with coatings to prevent rot and fungus.
  • Low Pressure Drop; enables smooth airflow, which reduces energy consumption.
  • Self-Cleaning Design; reduces clogging and maintenance needs.
  • Eco-Friendly Cooling; uses water as the cooling medium, without harmful refrigerants.
  • Fire Retardant Options; available for high-safety requirements.

Cellulose pads are commonly used across different industries and cooling systems:

  • HVAC & Comfort Cooling

   – Air handling units (AHUs)

   – Rooftop air coolers

   – Residential and commercial evaporative coolers

  • Industrial Uses

   – Cooling towers for power plants, refineries, and factories

   – Paint booths and automotive plants

   – Textile and paper industries

   – Poultry and livestock farms for humidity control

  • Agriculture & Greenhouses
